About Me
Namaskaram everyone, I am B S Nagesh, I have been in the retail industry for the last four decades, and until recently served as the Non-Executive Chairman of Shoppers Stop. In my many years of working, I have become a strong believer in giving back to the community; that’s where my journey began with Trust for Retailers & Retail Associates of India (TRRAIN).
My passion for retail and running crossed paths when I was a young professional. I have been participating in the Tata Mumbai Marathon since 2020. What motivates me to continue year after year is the impact we have made in the lives of the beneficiaries.

Dear Friends,
I am raising funds for Trust for Retailers & Retail Associates of India (TRRAIN), a not for profit organisation which believes in empowering Persons with Disabilities (PwDs) by helping them gain sustainable employment thereby creating an inclusive workforce; with one of its initiatives - TRRAIN Pankh programme (Wings of Destiny).
I have been with the retail industry for 40+ years and began my personal journey of giving back with TRRAIN in 2011. Our programme Pankh, works towards creating sustainable livelihoods for Persons with Disabilities. We train them in retail-specific skills, life skills and digital literacy in our centres pan India through our 45-day residential training. We further provide them with employment opportunities in retail and allied sectors, thus helping them live a life of dignity.
We have trained over 40,000+ PwDs, out of which 70% of them have secured sustainable employment in companies like Inorbit Mall, Shoppers Stop, D Mart, Big Basket, McDonald's, Amazon, Reliance and many others.
Your past donations and support have empowered lives and realised the dreams of so many PWDs, who have the courage to dream. In our shared goal of creating a positive impact, I believe that together, we can create a brighter future for them.
