I am associated with The PRIDE India's SPARSH Rural Health project since 1991. During all these years, I am proud and feel very happy to see the project grow and attain its objectives to the fullest where our medical services reach the neediest and the poorest sections of society.

Appeal

SPARSH (Sastur Project of Action Research Services through Hospital) is PRIDE India’s flagship public–private partnership, established in 1996 after the Latur earthquake to deliver quality primary healthcare to rural communities across Dharashiv (Osmanabad) and Latur in Maharashtra’s Marathwada region. The 50-bedded SPARSH Rural Hospital is recognized under the Indian Public Health Standards (IPHS), ISO-certified, and accredited by the National Quality Assurance Standards (NQAS). Operating 24×7, the hospital prioritizes maternal and child health while upholding the belief that healthcare is a right for every individual.

Dharashiv, identified by NITI Aayog as an aspirational district, along with adjoining Latur, includes a high proportion of families below the poverty line, and many interior villages still lack adequate health services. To reduce preventable maternal and child deaths and curb infectious diseases, SPARSH provides dependable, high-quality care close to where people live. In addition, SPARSH supports children living with HIV by offering nutritious diets and continuous medical care to strengthen immunity and reduce mortality.
