| Project Description | The challenges faced by children with special needs in accessing classroom education are significant, especially in many schools in India where they may encounter isolation and exclusion from other students. This can have a profound impact on their functioning and psychological well-being, influencing their personality and future prospects. These barriers persist from primary to higher levels of education in India. As a response to this issue, we established an inclusive school to provide quality education for rural, economically disadvantaged children with physical disabilities, allowing them to study alongside other students. What began as a small school with only a few students under a thatched roof in 1981 has now expanded to offer education up to the higher secondary level, with a current enrollment of 670 students. | ||||||

| Impact | Over the years, our inclusive Siva Saraswati Vidyalaya Higher Secondary School has guided many successful students who have pursued higher education and gone on to careers as lawyers, call center operators, and employees in both government and private sectors. We are proud to report that our students have achieved a 100% success rate in board exams for several years. In the most recent examination in 2024, 42 students from our inclusive school passed their 10th-grade exams, and 51 students passed their 12th-grade exams. The top three scorers achieved 477, 467, and 461 out of 500 in the 10th-grade exams, and 578, 548, and 547 out of 600 in the 12th-grade exams. These outstanding results are a testament to our commitment to inclusive education. | ||||||
