| Project Name | Therapy & Education for Multiple Disability |
| Amount Utilized (INR) | 435602 |
| Project Description | The funds were utilized to support the therapy, education, and rehabilitation programs for children and adults with multiple disabilities at the Cerebral Palsy Association of India (CPAI). The project covered a range of interventions including early intervention, physiotherapy, occupational and sensory integration therapy, speech and language therapy, yoga, and psychological counseling, aimed at improving mobility, communication, and emotional well-being.
Through special education and individualized learning plans, as well as Project Shikshan, CPAI ensured continued education and academic support for children with disabilities and children of single mothers. The initiative also supported Project Swanama, which empowers women with disabilities, single mothers, and tribal women through skill development, livelihood training, and health and hygiene programs.
Additionally, the funds contributed to medical care, orthopedic camps, and the distribution of customized assistive devices such as wheelchairs and braces. These collective efforts foster independence, inclusion, and holistic development for persons with multiple disabilities and their families. |

| Beneficiary Description | The project directly benefited children and adults with multiple disabilities, primarily those affected by cerebral palsy and associated conditions. The beneficiaries ranged in age from 3 to 45 years, with approximately 60% male and 40% female participants.
Through CPAI’s ongoing programs, around 350 direct beneficiaries received therapy, education, and vocational training, while an additional 1,200 individuals benefited indirectly through community outreach, awareness, and caregiver support initiatives.
Under Project Shikshan, 280 children of single mothers received full educational support, and through Project Swanama, more than 150 women with disabilities, single mothers, and tribal women were provided livelihood and health support. The interventions ensured inclusive development, improved health, education, and self-reliance among all participants. |
| Impact | Till date, the project has created a significant impact in improving the lives of individuals with disabilities and marginalized communities. Through our initiatives, we have rehabilitated and educated over 15,000 children with cerebral palsy, provided physiotherapy to 12,800 children and counseling support to more than 800 individuals. We have successfully conducted 20 orthopedic camps, distributing 780 customized assistive devices to enhance mobility and independence. Additionally, we have covered 100% school fees for 280 children of single mothers, ensuring their continued education. Under the Disability Act, 38 students have been successfully employed, promoting inclusion and self-reliance. Beyond rehabilitation, our outreach programs have empowered over 12,000 tribal girls through menstrual health awareness sessions and free sanitary pad distribution, fostering dignity and health equity. |
