Project DescriptionSamman Medical Camps
Samman organizes free rural medical camps every four months in Dahanu, Maharashtra, with the aim of providing specialized care to people with epilepsy and neurological disorders in underserved areas. These camps have been successfully running for over six years (with a short pause during the COVID-19 pandemic) and see an average turnout of 120+ patients per camp, with some camps witnessing over 300 attendees.
The camps offer comprehensive services including EEG testing, physiotherapy, occupational therapy, and expert neurological consultations. Patients requiring advanced care or surgery are identified and supported through the process. To date, several patients have undergone life-changing surgeries through this initiative.
These camps reflect Samman's commitment to bridging the healthcare gap for rural communities and improving the quality of life for people living with epilepsy.

Project NameDahanu Rural Camp Medicines
Amount Utilized (INR)125000
Project DescriptionSamman has been dedicated to this cause since 1998, and the Indian Epilepsy Association has a proud history of over 50 years of existence, championing the needs and rights of those affected by epilepsy.
For the past six years, with a brief two-year break during the COVID-19 pandemic, we have been conducting rural camps in Dahanu every quarter. These camps have allowed us to reach and support up to 150 plus patients every quarter. Epilepsy is a chronic disorder, and continuous support is crucial for making a lasting difference in the lives of those affected.
At our camps, we provide essential services such as EEGs, physiotherapy, and occupational therapy. We also identify and shortlist patients for surgery, having successfully completed a few surgeries and the patients are now seizure free.
