WHO WE ARE
Action Against Hunger is a global non-profit organization present in 59 countries that proactively addresses the root causes and consequences of hunger on a global scale. We save lives and build resilient communities. We work in Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat, Maharashtra & Chhattisgarh

WHAT WE DO
We adhere to the three main principles to save children and families against the ill-effects of undernutrition. With the ‘First 1000 days of life’ model, we have been successful in detecting, treating and preventing undernutrition in children along with educating families on the same.

INTERVENTION:
* Nutrition and Health - Moderate Acute. Malnutrition (MAM) to Severe Acute Malnutrition (SAM)
* ANTE NATAL CARE (ANC) AND POST NATAL CARE (PNC)
* Water, Sanitation & Hygiene (WASH)
* Food , Security and Livelihood
* Capacity Building

Appeal

At Action Against Hunger, our agenda is not centred on just feeding hungry children. We realise that malnutrition is a medical condition and respond to it accordingly. Our work spans across three broad categories :
- Treatment - Providing home-based treatment to children suffering from moderate acute malnutrition and referring children with severe acute malnutrition to the nearest Nutrition Rehabilitation Centres (NRC).
- Prevention - Counsel and educate mothers and the community at large on the causes and symptoms of malnutrition, maternal and child nutrition, etc., and ensure access to various nutrition-sensitive interventions such as WASH and Food Security and Livelihood in order to effectively prevent malnutrition.
- Sustainability - Capacity building of Anganwadi and ASHA workers on identifying the early signs of malnutrition and taking corrective actions.
Use of technology - We leverage technological solutions at multiple stages of our programme. We have incorporated technology right from the visible front at the grassroots level till the backend operations of our work
