| Project Description | The project focuses on providing educational support to 206 visually impaired (VI) and VI with additional disabilities children. Funds were utilized to conduct regular home visits, offer specialized training and remedial sessions at our centre, and coordinate with mainstream schools to ensure inclusive education. The support includes orientation and mobility training, assistive devices, academic guidance, and continuous follow-up with teachers and parents to help each child progress in their learning. | |||||||||

| Beneficiary Description | The project currently supports 206 visually impaired children & VI with additional disabilities across various age groups. Age Group: Children between 3 to 25 years, covering primary, upper primary, and secondary school levels. Gender Break-up: * Boys: 122 * Girls: 84 Type of Beneficiaries: * Children with total blindness, low vision and VI with addtional disabilities These beneficiaries receive regular home visits, centre-based training, and school coordination services to ensure comprehensive educational and personal development | |||||||||
| Impact | Quantitative Impact: * The project has supported 206 visually impaired children and VI with additional disabilities through structured educational interventions. * More than 600 home visits and 300 centre-based sessions have been conducted to provide individualized guidance. * Coordination with over 50 mainstream schools has ensured smoother inclusion and academic progress for VI children. Qualitative Impact: * Children have shown significant improvement in daily living skills, mobility, confidence, and independent learning abilities. * Regular follow-ups with teachers and parents have strengthened the support system around each child, leading to better classroom participation and learning outcomes. * Enhanced awareness in mainstream schools has resulted in better accommodation for VI children (such as seating arrangements, tactile learning aids, and exam support). * Families report increased motivation and reduced stress as children become more independent and better integrated into school environments. Projected Impact: * Continued support is expected to help more children transition smoothly into higher grades, improve academic performance, and build essential life skills for long-term independence. | |||||||||

| Project Description | EDUCATION: NAB Department of Education has been promoting Integrated Education Programmes for Visually Impaired (V.I.) Children in different parts of the country including major cities like Mumbai, Solapur, Bhopal, Faridabad, Varanasi, Allahabad, Bhubaneshwar, Shrinagar, etc. The department is trying to reach to promote the education of the visually impaired students in rural areas nearby to these major cities in collaboration with local voluntary agencies for the past three and a half decades. DEPARARTMENT OF WOMEN EMPOWERMENT: For Socio Economic Rehabilitation & Empowerment of visually impaired Women the NAB Department of Women’s Empowerment was established in the year 1988. Since its inception till date, thousands of visually impaired Women have learnt and started earning through successful Self Employment. Pre-Employment Counselling & training is imparted to the clients. Enterprising Visually challenged candidates are self-employed on Home Bound Projects and other Entrepreneur activities. The main goal of the program is to enhance the all-round development of the Visually Challenged Women to live a dignified life through inclusion and help them take up self-employment opportunities as suited to them. | |||||||||
