Catalysts for Social Action (CSA) is a not-for-profit organisation dedicated to transforming the lives of children in need of care and protection, as well as youth transitioning out of care. Since our inception in 2002, we have worked extensively across Child Care Institutions (CCIs) and in Aftercare to ensure that every child has access to a safe, nurturing, and empowering environment.
With 22 years of expertise in child protection, aftercare, and livelihood development, CSA has built entrenched partnerships with UNICEF, the Azim Premji Foundation, and the state governments of Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, and Karnataka.
Our interventions focus on:
- Strengthening child care systems within CCIs.
- Enabling life skills, education, and vocational readiness.
- Providing holistic aftercare support for care-leavers to achieve independent and dignified lives.
Through strategic partnerships and sustainable programs, CSA continues to champion the cause of vulnerable children, ensuring they grow up with opportunities, security, and hope for a better future.
Appeal
At CSA, we place a strong emphasis on the health, hygiene, education, and nutrition of the children under institutional care. The objective is to enhance children's basic health, hygiene, and sanitation conditions at CCIs, guaranteeing children have better living and health conditions.
On the educational front, we enhance our children's foundational learning capacities. The main goal is to improve the educational achievements of children in CCIs so they may make appropriate career and life decisions and live independently and with dignity. Additionally, we track each child's BMI as part of our nutritional program. We engage with a Nutritionist to understand the gap and provide good nutrition to children ensuring holistic development of children. Our ultimate goal is to provide holistic and family like care to children so that they become a healthy and contributing member of the society.
