Suryoday Foundation is a Section 8 non-profit organization working with the mission of empowering low-income households with access to information, opportunities, and services that enable them to make informed decisions and lead secure, dignified lives. We primarily work with domestic workers, school children, and their parents who are informal workers.
The Foundation’s core thematic areas include:
• Financial Inclusion: building financial, banking, and digital literacy to encourage savings, informed choices, and access to formal services.
• Access to Social Security: linking communities to government schemes and entitlements.
• Preventive Health: creating awareness, conducting health screenings, and promoting healthier practices.
• Supplementary Livelihoods: enabling women and informal workers to explore income-generating opportunities.
From 2019 to March 2024, Suryoday Foundation reached over 1.53 lakh beneficiaries across Maharashtra, Odisha, Tamil Nadu, Puducherry, and Gujarat - transforming lives through knowledge, access, and empowerment.

Appeal

Domestic workers keep our homes running, yet their own lives are often marked by financial insecurity, lack of recognition, and poor access to essential services. With irregular incomes, little or no savings, and limited awareness of government schemes or health facilities, even a small emergency can push their families into crisis.
At Suryoday Foundation, we believe these women deserve better. Through our Domestic Workers Program, we empower them with financial literacy, encourage savings, and connect them to banking services. We also support them in enrolling for government schemes like health insurance, pensions, and social security benefits—building a much-needed safety net. Recognizing the link between health and livelihood, we additionally conduct health awareness sessions and organize screenings.
This year, we aim to reach 5,000 domestic workers in Mumbai, Navi Mumbai, and surrounding areas. With Rs 30 lakhs, we will:
• Create financial awareness
• Enable access to formal financial products and government schemes
• Organize health camps focusing on anemia and reproductive health
Your support will help women who remain invisible in society to stand tall, financially secure, healthier, and better prepared for the future. Together, we can ensure dignity and opportunity for those who care for our homes.
