Shop for Change Fair Trade is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to empowering smallholder farmers, tribal communities, and women entrepreneurs by creating transparent, fair, and inclusive value chains. Our primary intervention lies in market linkage and value chain creation, enabling rural producers to access better markets and secure fair prices for their products.
We work extensively with tribal self-help groups, farmer producer organizations (FPOs), and women-led enterprises across regions like Jawhar in Maharashtra and Jashpur in Chhattisgarh. Our support spans from capacity building to enterprise development and brand creation, ensuring producers are market-ready and self-reliant.
Our broader areas of intervention include:
Sustainable agriculture and climate-resilient practices
Agroforestry and promotion of biodiversity
Skill and enterprise development
Formation and handholding of FPOs and SHGs
Women’s empowerment through entrepreneurship
CSR-aligned community-based livelihood initiatives
We offer certified fair trade products and ensure traceability, transparency, and social impact at every stage of the supply chain. Our mission is to make every purchase a step toward equitable growth and sustainable development for India’s rural and tribal communities.
Appeal
Shop for Change Fair Trade has been working for over 12 years to empower smallholder farmers and tribal artisans through fair trade practices—without any CSR funding to date. We have successfully built market linkages and value chains that connect rural producers with ethical markets, ensuring sustainable livelihoods and dignity for their work.
We now seek donor support of ?10 lakhs to scale our impact through the creation of a common marketing platform that unites community-based value chains—including agri-produce, processed foods, and handmade goods—developed by farmers and artisans. This platform will focus on product promotion, brand positioning, capacity building, and export readiness, helping producer groups become independent and self-sustaining.
The funds will be used to:
Design and launch a unified brand and digital platform
Train producer groups in quality control, compliance, and packaging
Support certifications and documentation for exports
Develop market access strategies and conduct buyer outreach
Your support will help amplify rural voices, bring Indian farm and craft heritage to global markets, and build long-term, dignified livelihoods for communities that deserve better. Together, we can turn local potential into global opportunity.
