The Donyi Polo Cultural and Charitable Trust (DPCCT) is a non-profit organisation dedicated to preserving the cultural heritage of Arunachal Pradesh’s indigenous communities. To address the gradual erosion of traditional knowledge and identity, the Trust introduced the Gurukul model of education in the state—a residential system that combines formal NCERT-based learning with indigenous teachings rooted in local customs, language, and values.

DPCCT currently runs four boys’ Gurukuls, each serving different tribal communities. These institutions function not only as educational centres but also as spaces where cultural knowledge is practised and passed on through daily life. Students are immersed in a setting that values both academic growth and cultural grounding. Beyond education, the Trust also engages in cultural documentation, language research, and awareness programmes to support community identity and intergenerational learning. Through these efforts, DPCCT seeks to ensure that Arunachal Pradesh’s indigenous traditions continue to thrive alongside modern developments.

Appeal

We humbly seek your support to provide daily nutritious meals to students studying in the Gurukuls run by DPCCT across Arunachal Pradesh. Many of these children come from remote and economically challenged communities, where access to regular, balanced meals is limited. Your contribution will help us source local, healthy ingredients and ensure the daily preparation of fresh, nourishing food for the children—supporting their well-being and enabling them to focus on their education without the burden of hunger.

These Gurukuls are not just centres of learning, but spaces where children grow up immersed in the values, language, and traditions of their indigenous heritage. Nutritious meals help them attend regularly, engage fully, and carry forward the cultural knowledge entrusted to them. This initiative is a step toward securing both their health and the future of their communities. All funds raised will be directed toward food provision and related essentials. Your support—however modest—can help sustain these children’s journeys and ensure that both their bodies and traditions are nurtured with care.
