Tulsi Trust, founded in August 1975 by Mr. Mithu Chanrai in memory of his late father, Mr. Tulsidas Chanrai. Over the decades, the Trust has aligned itself with the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals, focusing on eradicating hunger, alleviating poverty, ensuring quality education, and promoting healthcare and skill development. With a strong commitment to holistic community welfare, Tulsi Trust has implemented programs that serve multiple aspects of human development. Its initiatives—ranging from feeding the poor and improving healthcare access to fostering active ageing of senior citizens—continue to bring dignity and well-being to countless lives across India.
Project Graceful Living, a flagship initiative of Tulsi Trust, was born out of the realization that senior citizens deserve care, dignity, and opportunities to age gracefully. In today’s rapidly changing world, where families are often fragmented, older adults face challenges of isolation, neglect, and health vulnerabilities. Graceful Living addresses these needs through counselling, companionship, physiotherapy support, and engaging community activities, helping seniors live active, meaningful, and independent lives. By blending gerontology and geriatrics, the project supports not just physical well-being, but also the emotional and social dimensions of ageing. It is an affirmation of Tulsi Trust’s belief that elders are a treasure of wisdom and must be valued as integral contributors to society.

FUNDING PROPOSAL FOR THE GRACEFUL LIVING -
Loneliness is a major issue faced by older adults, as shown by a recent survey that found that 65% of older adults in India feel lonely. When it comes to old age, only physical issues related to aging are emphasized; other needs of seniors are not taken into consideration. Graceful Living came into existence out of a realization that the social, psychological, intellectual, and recreational needs of seniors are as important and need to be looked into. Hence, Graceful Living started providing companionship to seniors in their own homes. Along with providing individual and group services, Graceful Living also conducts various activities and programs for associations of seniors so they can look at aging in a more positive, constructive, and meaningful way!
Graceful Living provides social services to older adults through other elder care organizations that act as their partners.
To ensure the successful implementation and sustainability of the Graceful Living project, we are seeking financial support for the following activities or programs. The budget for all these activities is given below.
