Project Description | Through Project Shiksha, FOM provides the much needed educational support to our pediatric patients and also to children of those patients who are on life-long medication. The project aims to ensure that the patients do not have to make the difficult choice between seeking education for themselves or for a family member and continuing with their treatment. Through funds raised, annual academic year fees, text books, uniforms and other school supplies are provided to our beneficiaries. In this manner, we enable achieving dual goals; that of ensuring compliance amongst the patients as well as ensuring that they have an opportunity towards a brighter future. Broadly speaking the overall objectives of the project can be summarised as follows: • Ensure that the disease does not come in the way of their accessing educational opportunities • Enable patients to remain compliant to their treatment protocols by supporting travel costs for their periodical follow up visits with physicians • Reduce the financial burden and psychological stress on the families of cancer patients from weaker socio-economic backgrounds | ||||||
