Appeal

TNS India Foundation (TNSIF), a not-for-profit organization, has been driving economic transformation for marginalized communities since 2012 through youth skilling, agriculture, and women entrepreneurship programs. Building on the success of our initiatives under Tata Mumbai Marathon 2025, which enabled the installation of solar-powered irrigation in Palghar, we now seek donor support for the Karjat

Funds raised will directly support the installation of solar-powered water pumps across Kondiwade Gram Panchayat villages. These communities face severe irrigation challenges due to erratic electricity supply, soil erosion, and water scarcity, forcing many families into migration and informal labor. By harnessing renewable energy for irrigation, this project will ensure reliable water access, increase agricultural productivity, and enable smallholder farmers to pursue climate-resilient farming practices.

In addition, a portion of funds will be allocated toward community engagement events, employee volunteering activities, race day collaterals, and project logistics, ensuring transparency, visibility, and meaningful impact.

Your support will help us create sustainable livelihoods, reduce youth migration, and strengthen resilience among tribal and farming families. Together, we can empower communities in Karjat to secure a more equitable and sustainable future.

Project DescriptionUnder the Tata Mumbai Marathon 2025, TNS India Foundation partnered with M&G Global to implement the Power to Empower initiative in Raipur village, Palghar. With funds raised through employee volunteering, the project focused on addressing the community’s most pressing challenge — unreliable irrigation due to erratic electricity supply.

The grant supported the installation of a solar-powered irrigation system covering 3.5 acres of farmland. This renewable energy solution now provides sustainable and uninterrupted water access, enabling small and marginal farmers to cultivate crops year-round.

The project has significantly improved agricultural productivity, income stability, and resilience for farming families. By reducing dependence on traditional power sources, it also advanced climate-resilient practices, promoting long-term sustainability.
