Mijwan Welfare Society (MWS) is a non-profit voluntary organization founded in May, 1993 by the Kaifi Azmi a renowned Urdu poet, under the Society Registration Act, 1860, the Foreign Contribution Regulation Act (FCRA), 1976, and Section 12Aa of the Income Tax Act, 1961. Kaifi Azmi believed that in a country like India, where 80% of the population lives in the villages, that villages need to be empowered if India is to make any real progress. Since
his passing, his daughter, Shabana Azmi, has taken over to carry on his dream. She now stands as the president of MWS along-side Namrata Goyal as the Youth President and Secretary of Mijwan Welfare Society.
Mijwan Welfare Society (MWS) works across three key areas of intervention: livelihood ,education and civic engagement. Through these integrated focus areas, MWS aims to create sustainable and inclusive opportunities for rural communities, especially for women and youth, fostering empowerment and long-term social change.
Appeal
Confined within household responsibilities, women and girls in rural areas often have limited opportunities for economic independence. The beauty parlour business holds great potential for them to start home-based enterprises and earn a sustainable livelihood. However, the skilling options available in villages are often unprofessional, inaccessible, and unaffordable, leaving many young women without the opportunity to gain employable skills.
Mijwan Welfare Society (MWS) seeks your support to run an Advanced Beauty Parlour Training Course for young women and girls from the rural and semi-urban areas of Phoolpur Tehsil, Azamgarh. This initiative will focus on professional skill-building in beauty, hair, and nail art, enabling participants to either start their own home-based businesses or work with local parlours to generate income.
The funds raised will be used for:
-Hiring professional trainers and conducting skill-based workshops
-Procuring beauty and hair care equipment and essential consumables
-Providing training materials and support for practical sessions
-Conducting awareness and community mobilization activities
By supporting this initiative, you will help rural women gain employable skills, start micro-enterprises, and achieve financial self-reliance, contributing to the long-term empowerment of their families and communities.
