NSVK's fundamental OBJECTIVE is to help people achieve economic development, mutual respect and dignity. The VISION is to “support changes in the lives of socially and economically deprived communities by building active partnerships with them in a spirit of transparency and sensitivity, pursuing an ideal of overall sustainable development of the society”. They are firmly working for CHILDREN AND TUBERCULOSIS AFFECTED PEOPLE in the UMANG PROJECT to protect vulnerable children from any form of exploitation. They are creating awareness about CHILD PROTECTION and has collaborated with Child Line Foundation India for the same. They have conducted a program in the Ambojwadi slum to aid 9 to 15 year old CHILDREN WHO ARE ADDICTED TO SUBSTANCE ABUSE. It was implemented for 2 to 3 years to rehabilitate the addicted children from their work of collecting garbage. The project lead to decrease in the school dropout rate. The social workers conducted painting and drawing classes to improve their mental and physical development. The Tuberculosis Control Program is conducted to spread AWARENESS ABOUT TB. They provide nutrition to the patients, conduct sessions, check their BMI (Body Mass Index), change their nutrition if needed and monitor them. With the setting up of the Dot Centers by the govt. for checking up on the TB patients, the Rupin process was initiated by the institute to work with the TB people. They counsel, provide nutrition powder and Rs1000 for ration to BPL families.
