Child Sexual abuse and harassment is extremely rampant in our nation today and almost 1 in every 2 Indian children are subject to it at least once in their lifetime. When something as horrible this does happen to little child, who comes from a society like ours, where to even speak of such things is taboo, the child feels like the victim, yet is unable to express himself. Feeling as though it was all their fault, children do not speak out and remain afraid and scarred, this causes them to brood with consequential PTSD and serious mental issues. This is an issue of great magnitude in the nation today, especially in the lower strata of society.However, people like us who are privileged to live safe, sheltered lives fail to see and understand the magnitude of the problem. Thus, I picked to support the HEAL foundation, to make people aware about these children, who are of just my age or younger, and are being abused for no fault of their own. These children are our future, and I believe if we do not help them HEAL now itself, not only will they have a troubled childhood, but also won't be able to make good leaders in the future.
