In India, a child is sexually abused every 15 minutes, according to the latest government figures. The National Crime Records Bureau report, released in December, 2017, shows a steady rise in incidents of offences against children. Child sexual abuse exploits and degrades children and attacks the very fabric of our society ! The abuse causes serious damage to the cognitive, social and emotional development of a child. As a society we have a collective social responsibility to prevent child abuse and help those who have suffered by way of support. To accomplish this we must raise our voices, help fashion policy and build services that ensure we eradicate this menace and help in the rehabilitation and development of those abused. I, Aria Almeida would like to make a difference in my own small way and request you to support me in my endeavour to do so by helping me raise funds and supporting this cause in every way.
