I was shocked to learn that more than 50% of children in India are sexually abused by the time they turn 18. These children are helpless victims who lack the means to share their plight because their abusers often are relatives, teachers and even parents. I’ve learned that sexual abuse disfigures childhood and can leave mental and emotional scarring, often perpetuating the cycle into another generation.
