Did you know that a child is abused every 15 minutes in India. According to Government data, 106,958 cases were registered in 2016. And remember, these are just the "official" records. When I heard about this it really made my heart bleed to find out that a girl just like me, somewhere has been abused and is probably still being abused as you read this. And that's what really spoke to me and made me want to support this cause. Which is why I will be running 6.6 kms in the Tata Mumbai Marathon-2019 to support HEAL. To accomplish HEAL's mission I need your help too. With all humbleness, I urge you to donate for this cause. Your money will go into paying for a workshop which will save at least one child from being sexually abused in this country. HEAL is an NGO which Helps Eradicate Abuse through Learning. Millions of children are being sexually abused everyday and most of the time they do not understand that what is happening to them is abuse. HEAL works to eliminate sexual abuse of children by conducting workshops to educate children and adults on what abuse is, how to prevent it and also provides professional therapists to deal with the survivors. Their vision is to enable people to recognize, understand and prevent sexual abuse to children. I am committing to run this distance and to train hard to do it to the best of my ability. I will also need your support to achieve my goal of helping these children and to the vision that one day we can live in a safer India.
