I feel that while we worry about much larger issues in the world we tend to forget the issues here in India that make the lives of more than 50% of the children in India miserable. One such issue is child sexual abuse that has manifested itself and grown over the last few years. The recent horrifying cases in Uttar Pradesh are not the first and certainly would not be the last unless we all collectively decide to put an end to child sexual abuse. This problem must stop now before it grows to a level where it cannot be contained. These miserable children are left confused after being tortured and no help can lead to depression and even suicide. Their entire childhood is ruined and even sometimes their adulthood, that is if they can make it to become adults. These traumatic experiences leave them scarred and many of them are unaware on how to respond and go about picking themselves up. This is where The Foundation comes in. I have decided to help raise money for these victims and other potential victims of child sexual abuse. I will also be running in the 6.6km Mumbai Marathon in January 2019 to help raise awareness towards this cause. I have kept an aim of INR 50,000 to help The Foundation to conduct workshops to prevent such cases and educate both children and adults. Also they would use the funds to counsel victims of child sexual abuse. Any donations even small would greatly be appreciated. Please help a cause that needs our immediate attention and eradicate child abuse.
