HelpAge India is an organisation that is working towards helping elderly people live a happier, healthier and more dignified life. The organisation works tirelessly holistic healthcare to disadvantaged senior citizens, supports old age homes, fights for their rights, and spread digital literacy amongst other initiatives. I came across HelpAge India through one of the assemblies they conducted at my school. The assembly brought to light the plight of so many of our elders who are being mistreated or feel abandoned by our society. We, as the youth of this nation, should strive to lend our support to this initiative, to make our society a healthy, happy and inclusive safe space for everyone. "Old Age is a second childhood" is a commonly known phrase which suggests elderly people are made dependant by their age. This does not need to be true. With your help, we can support HelpAge India in allowing elderly people to find love in homes and make them independent.
