8 year old Aman Sonawni is a resident of Kachna slum in Housing Board Colony, Chattishgarh. 5 years ago his family was displaced from Telibandha slum to Kachna Slum. Aman’s parents pick up rags for a living. Aman’s family consists of 5 members, which includes his two brothers and one sister. Aman has studied till 2nd standard. At present, after leaving studies, he does the sorting work of iron and tin from the rags. Every morning at around 7, little Aman, goes near the littering place and does his sorting work till around 4 in the evening. After all this, all the collected material was to be sold out to the shopkeepers, Aman earns around Rs. 40-50/- daily.
CRY's team contacted Aman and his family and had a conversation with them which included the importance of education in the child’s life and motivated them to send Aman to school in this term. Aman and his parents have enrolled Aman to school from this term. When asked Aman what is his dream, he proudly said that when he grows up he wants to open his own shop and improve the financial condition of his family.
