Tata Mumbai Marathon 2024
The impact of COVID-19 on families from moderate backgrounds is quite clear, but it’s likely to be just the beginning. During the COVID situation UHRC learnt more in-depth about the need to facilitate people's access to social benefits such as e-shram card (for informal sector workers), correct information in Aadhaar, Voter Card for address proof and ID of Indore. For verification purposes our understanding that the mobile number linked to the Aadhar needs to be updated so that the OTP can be used for verification was reinforced. We have been holding and will continue to hold sessions to help people understand the significance of all these aspects. The realisation that there are many widowed and deserted women who are managing their families alone. This is quite challenging for the woman and her children. We are striving to get widow pension applications for such women filed. About 20 such women have started receiving pensions in their bank accounts. We are also trying to encourage a larger number of families to grow vegetables. During 2022-23 1000 families are growing vegetables. Each family shares these vegetables with approximately 3 more families. This will help provide food to around 4000 families and not to mention its positive impact on carbon emission. We are all in this together!

About Me
Originally from Meerut, India, I am currently based in NOIDA. During my Feb. 2017 visit, I saw a nutrition session in bastis. An article on this is published at http://bit.ly/2mgc98n. I believe knowledge is empowerment. These keen minds are eager to learn & improve their lives. I have witnessed tremendous drive in their eyes. They deserve respect & the right to equal opportunities like everyone else in life. Our support to them is to help them gain rights & live with dignity. I wish to visit Indore again to share basic skills as per their interest. An article on my experience with basti women &children is available at http://bit.ly/2zOqdvH I urge all to contribute to this exceptionally worthy cause.
