About 9 years ago, as a young child I first saw UHRC’s work in my basti. After some years we children also began to form our groups with the support of the organization. We have done some efforts, and plan to continue do more work for social causes with UHRC’s guidance, so that all our neighboring community get benefits and also contribute in this cause.
UHRC engages in many efforts and activities to develop children groups and slowly, we children started saving in the groups. I feel very happy to be associated with UHRC.
It is our endeavor through the children-youth group program of UHRC, to force the society to get used to a norm of gender equality. We basti children groups become a cohesive force where we all (girls as well as boys) forming a support system for each other, ensuring uninterrupted education, playing sports and enjoying other self-development activities. Children-youth groups come together for joint activities such as sports meet.
UHRC organizes city-level events which give platforms to showcase our skills, talents and overcome stage-fear. Women's groups promoted by UHRC help slum families to continue their children’s education, to repay their old high interest debts, to fulfill their regular family based needs.
