I recently visited the Paediatric OPD at Tata Memorial Hospital. Singing comes to me naturally and hence I sang for the children. They started to sing along and the energy of the ward changed. Each child was special but my attention went towards Tiara(named changed) who knew all the lyrics and was trying to sing along. Tiara is just 7 years old and is in the hospital. I could sense her excitement and happiness while singing. However, she could not sing for long as her energy levels were low and was running out of breath. Seeing this, I felt helpless. Tiara has a beautiful voice and aspires to be a Pop Star. I want to raise funds for Tiara so she is able to get the best treatment and be Cancer Free. I've learnt that with correct treatment and timely intervention, childhood cancer is curable and children can live their lives as healthy adults. Paediatric cancer is more than chemo and no hair. It's more about strength, bravery and a lot of hope. Tata hospital has 3000 new cases of cancer every year. Many of these cases come from remote villages and have no understanding of the disease. I'm supporting a fighter. No contribution is small, each drop makes the ocean! If you ask a child fighting cancer in a hospital for one wish, they just say “Ghar Jaana Hai". Children should be fighting siblings and friends, not cancer. If you have read the message till here, you are a compassionate soul.
