Ever since I was a little child Ive always wanted to do my bit to make a difference in the world. There are 7.4 billion people in this world, which means there are 7.4 billion stories to be told. Being able to change someones story for the better is for me, a blessing which enables me to give back, and I therefore seize this opportunity to help bring a little light into someones life.
Every time I look out the window, I see poverty and starvation, children crying and people who dont have access to basic needs, which I take for granted, I feel a tug at my heartstrings. I start to see the world not through my rose tinted glasses, but through the eyes and feelings of the ones who are not born with a silver spoon. I feel I must do something, anything, however small to alleviate their plight rather than turning away, as the quality of their life really matters to me. Contributing through the Light of Life organization is my chance to contribute to break the divisive chains between the haves and the have nots and strive towards a better, more egalitarian India in the words of Mahatma Gandhi , we need to be the change we want to see in the world .
