Education is one of the most important investments that a country can make in its future. In my view, it is equally important for education to be inclusive so that growth opportunities are equitable and no child is left behind. Training and Educational Centre for Hearing impaired (TEACH) is one of the first organizations in Mumbai working to create accessible higher education for hearing impaired students. It caters to children from the age group of 16-24 years. TEACH has created a developmental model for such students and helped 115 children since 2016 with it. Students are put through knowledge, skill & attitude training to attain overall development of the child. TEACH also provides free higher education facilities to all the students who cannot afford the cost of education, which is about 60% of the total students enrolled with them. COVID-19 has severely impacted the finances of TEACH which is causing great hindrance in smooth functioning of its operations.
