We envision growing as an idea across regions, economies, and countries using urban surplus material as a tool to address basic but neglected issues of the financially and materially poor, involving them in designing and implementing their own solutions, with their own efforts, knowledge, and dignity, and material as a reward for their participation. School to School initiative is addressing the educational needs of thousands of remote & resource starved village/ slum schools by channelizing under-utilised material of the city’s affluent schools not as a thing to distribute but as a tool to bring about comprehensive behaviour change in the recipients and the contributors! Scores of children leave schools for unimaginably reasons like lack of notebook, pencil, water bottle or inability of parents to pay the recurring expense of stationery, which are abundant in urban schools. Goonj endeavors to touch many school communities and improve the larger ecosystem in rural education. Dignity and Empathy are the two key pillars of our work.. Rewarding children for their contribution towards their own well-being, their own surroundings is what we value and nurture among kids across the country.. A school kit can be sponsored at a minimum cost of 500 rupees. - Rs.10,000/- will provide 20 school kits for rural children - Rs.5,000/- will provide 10 school kits for rural children -Rs.2,500/- will provide 5 school kits for rural children..
