Child Abuse is one of the many issues our world faces. It is our job, as humans, to help the ones in danger. Child abuse accounts for 81% of the crimes committed against minors. According to NCRB 2018, 109 hildren were sexually abused every day in India. According to NCRB, 2021, 97.1% of the offenders were known to the children. 53% of Indian children (girls and boys), experience sexual abuse before the age of 18. Abused children often suffer from emotional and behavioural problems, which can later develop into sexual dysfunction, anxiety, vulnerability to repeated victimization, depression, and substance abuse. As astonishing as these facts are, they are true. We, as not only citizens, but humans should take it upon ourselves to make sure that the children of our country are safe. HEAL aims to eradicate child abuse through the tool of education. Since 2008, they have conducted 800+ sessions on awareness and have trained 6000+ children on personal safety.
