HEAL (Help Eradicate Abuse Through Learning) is a Mumbai-based NGO working in the area of child sexual abuse since 2008. In India, it is estimated that 53% of children experience some sort of sexual abuse before they reach the age of 18 and 23% of these children are girls. Child sexual abuse leaves an individual mentally, emotionally and physically hurt and damaged; it robs them of their innocence and childhood. The undeniable stigma surrounding this issue has lead to so many children being abused. In order to overcome this stigma, we, the students of the Cathedral and John Connon school are joining HEAL to help spread awareness about this pressing issue.
