Millions of children are abused before 18 years of age and in many cases, the parents do not even complain because the abuser is known to them. In many cases, survivors are left so psychologically damaged, that they are consumed by shame and guilt. The average disposal rate of such cases in our country is 12 years while in some states it goes up to 40 to 50 years. The fact that we live in a country where predators can get away with robbing children of their innocence, and ruining their future disgusts me. I am fundraising for the HEAL Foundation, which strives to eradicate child sexual abuse through workshops and educating children and adults on how to recognise, prevent and respond to Child Sexual Abuse.
