Persons with Disabilities are among the most neglected people in India. Addressing long term problems faced by Persons with Disabilities has now become a major challenge. Among all disabilities, persons and the families of people suffering from various mental disorders (like mental retardation) are the ones who are most affected as there are very few organisations working in this area. Adhar NGO, based in Badlapur and Nasik has been doing amazing work in field of mental retardation. Theirs is a unique, one-of-a-kind institution where they provide life-long care and shelter to children who suffer from mental retardation. I wish to make a difference in the lives of the children and adults of Adhar NGO. Adhar is supporting and taking lifelong care of 500+ children and adults who are suffering from different categories of Mental Retardation. Not only do they provide physical care but financial support and psychological relief to parents. Adhar does not receive any grant or aid from the Government, it runs on private contributions and donations. Please join me in helping the children and adults of Adhar.
