I’m participating in the 2020 Tata Mumbai Marathon to raise funds for clean sanitation facilities for children in rural areas. Several rural schools have insufficient and unhygienic toilets, making it difficult for children going to school especially girls. Supporting a not for profit cause is a powerful way to give back to the community. Supporting the underprivileged or a good cause is a great source of joy. However, that is not the only reason people support such organizations. The betterment of society has a very meaningful impact, whether in the near or long term. There are not for profits that help to bring education to children. Others support protection and empowerment of women. Some support wildlife and land conservation, which has an impact on the environment. There are organizations that support causes like raising awareness of cancer. Such initiatives help protect and save. All donations are exempt under section 80 G of Income Tax 1961
