As said by our Prime Minister Narendra Modi, "cleanliness and good sanitation in schools is a matter of high importance." According to UNICEF, fecal contamination and poor sanitation is a leading cause of child mortality, disease, under nutrition and stunting. Open defecation also exposes women and girls to the danger of physical attacks and rape, and they often have to wait until dark to relieve themselves. I was born in a privileged home and even though I use the toilet every single day, I never appreciated it in the way I do now. Having a toilet, having access to such a crucial facility... I'm really lucky. I'm supporting and raising funds for the Nargis Dutt Foundation (a registered NGO) so that they can construct toilets in the rural parts of the country and help men, women and children fight against fatal diseases - this act is my way of being grateful for what I have and trying to give back to the society, to people like you & me.
