I am taking up the cause of building homes for bereaved families of soldiers of India’s Armed Forces through our ‘Habitat for Heroes’ program. This initiative seeks to engage citizens of the country and volunteers to help India’s soldiers and families of fallen soldiers in their need for decent shelter, with the belief that we must serve those who have served us. Here are two of the several families who need a roof over their head. Late Swapnil Charapale hailing from Kolhapur (Maharashtra) lost his life due to an unfortunate accident during his training. He is survived by his father, mother and younger brother who live in a dilapidated house. The late Arjun Birgane (Kolhapur, Maharashtra) of the Maratha Regiment was part of Meghadoot Operation. He was a battle causality on 11th August 2001. His brother also served Indian Army and died due to a prolonged illness. In recent Maharashtra floods their homes also got flooded. He is survived by his mother, wife and son. There are many such families who need your help.
