Prevention is the best cure! Action Against Hunger works with mothers right from conception on good maternal health and safe delivery. This ensures children and born malnutrition free. Further, they work with new mothers on child care, feeding practices, nutrition diversity and sanitation to help them raise children to be healthy. They do this through personal counselling, community sessions, and training Government health workers. Through this long term behavior change model, Action Against Hunger equips communities to fight and prevent malnutrition on their own.

About the organization
Since inception in 1979, Action Against Hunger has led the global fight against hunger. In India, their operations from the grassroots upwards, are focused on taking decisive action against the causes and effects of malnutrition. They equip people with knowledge and awareness, so they can see their children grow up strong, and for whole communities to prosper. You can read more about their work at www.actionagainsthunger.in

About Me

I am a Chartered Accountant by profession and have worked in the banking and development sectors for the past 15 years. I have had the opportunity to witness first-hand the social issues plaguing our society and work on creating sustainable long term solutions for them. Child malnutrition is an emergency that puts a huge question mark over the future of our citizens of tomorrow, our children. By tackling malnutrition, we not only ensure their survival, but also give them the opportunity to be healthy, educated and self-dependent country members.
