Professor Strogatz tweeted my video ‘How Calculus helped fight HIV‘ and this resulted in Mumbai Mirror featuring an article on me. Propelled by this encouragement and based on my research for the video I am taking this opportunity to promote the message of AIDS via the upcoming Tata Mumbai marathon . While researching for my video I learned a lot about the complex topic of HIV / AIDS and how early detection is very important. I am raising funds to support an AIDS charity ie ‘Kripa Foundation’ which as a premier NGO has been tirelessly working for the past 38 years in helping to battle addiction at all levels of society especially the underprivileged. In recent years they have reached out to the children afflicted by HIV AIDS. In Vasai they cater to over 1500 children affected by HIV AIDS . Many of them are orphans as their parents have died of HIV AIDS. The donation amount earned by the Kripa Foundation this year from the Tata Mumbai Marathon will be used for this purpose. I hope you will support my run to help raise funds for Kripa Foundation that is working tirelessly in saving these children who are both left helpless on the streets and as orphans .
