I was born in a small village in South Dinajpur district, West Bengal and grew up witnessing the misery of underprivileged children around me. Until I resided in metro cities for studies and later for work, I was under the impression that the situation in urban area was better. But I was wrong!
It dawned upon me that less privileged children are secluded and ostracized and are present in all parts of India. From the remotest villages in the hinterland of India to the pavements in metro cities, theirs is a constant struggle for a happy and healthy childhood, which they rightfully deserve. They grapple with burning issues like lack of education, malnutrition, hunger, disease and protection from harm.
The passion for making a difference in the lives of these children inspired me to volunteer for Save the Children. My sole aim is to help more and more children get a better start in life, an opportunity to learn and protection from harm. My biggest reason to carry on what I am doing for the children is the immense satisfaction that it brings. I promise to you that it’s a truly gratifying feeling!
I ran Tata Mumbai Marathon 2019, to create awareness and raise funds for these underprivileged children of India. You can help by donating to this cause. A small contribution from your end can help me achieve my goal of reaching more and more children.
Thank you !
