There are things in our daily life which we don't give much thought to, we don't bother how we acquired them, we just use them & forget till we need them next. One such commodity is cloth, it is one of the basic needs yet we don't bother about it. Let's take something as common as cotton. India is world's largest producer of cotton. The cotton value chain employs 5cr people including 40l farmers. It's the tireless efforts & hard work of these people which get us our daily cotton. This is the big mechanism which fulfills our basic need of clothing. But big machines have big problems & this one is no exception. Though India ranks 1st in producing cotton, India ranks lowest in cotton productivity. It means we are first only because of sheer number of people involved in cotton farming. This is not good, because as the demand increases, this machine is going to break, dramatically affecting the Indian economy, hence it needs to be taken care of. COTAAP Research Foundation is one such organisation dedicated to make this machine future ready. They believe in & eventually find permanent solutions. Their work of last 10 years has resulted in dramatic productivity improvement in Chopda, Maharashtra. They aim to expand their efforts across India & ensure a bright future. COTAAP has surely ramped up their efforts in this direction, but to go full throttle, we need your help. I appeal to you to generously support my cause & help us find faster permanent solutions & ensure bright future.
