Maintaining personal hygiene is necessary for many reasons; personal, social, health, psychological or simply as a way of life. Keeping a good standard of hygiene helps to prevent the development and spread of infections and illnesses. Did you know that only 32% of rural households in India cant afford to have their own toilets. In fact, of the estimated billion people in the world who defecate in the open, more than half reside in India. About 48 % of children in India are suffering from some degree of malnutrition caused by the unhygienic environment in which children from rural India grow up in. It is up to us to do something about this unfortunate situation and to help in whatever way we can. Thus I would urge you to lend a helping hand to the less fortunate souls of rural India where even a simple glass of pure water is not available to many by donating money to eradicate this issue.
