Dear Friends,
As per the NHFS-4, 27 percent of Indian women have experienced physical violence since age 15. That’s nearly 10 crore Indian women! Sexual and Gender-based Violence’ (SGBV) is a fundamental human rights violation and a serious public health concern. Eliminating gender-based violence is a priority, given that this is one of the most pervasive human rights violations in the world today.
By participating in the TATA Mumbai Marathon, 2019, FPA India aims to run for the 'Break the Silence Around Gender-Based Violence' campaign under the #RUN4FP theme.
Family Planning Association of India, in partnership with all supporters, is looking at doing the following:
• Sensitise communities to prevent gender-based violence
• Identify through screening and counselling and help those in need to access care and support
• Empower young women with life skills training to say ‘no’ to violence
What support are we looking at?
A donation of INR 1830/- towards our cause will enable one woman to access information and skills to reduce her vulnerability to gender based violence and access counselling, basic care and support when in need, to protect her health, rights and dignity.
Please donate generously so that we can help prevent and mitigate Gender Based Violence.
