My name is Tejendra Pratap Singh and I live in Nagla Kishanlal, Naraich, Agra. Life in the slum usually stuck with many difficulties and challenges. We face acute shortage of drinking and general use water, because there is no piped water supply in the slum. We are depended only on water from Jal Nigum Agra. Our Laxya children’s group and women’s group negotiate with Govt authorities with support from UHRC. We got a little success in as a small part of our basti street was paved. We are pursuing for until paved street and improving road and water facilities. We improve our negotiation skills in UHRC’s guidance. There are no sewer line or no play ground and other interesting activities in my basti. UHRC formed a children group in our basti and I have selected as an active member of our group. We are learning with many enjoyable quiz contests, drawing competition and other activities. Member of our group and other friends from basti are now aware about many social issue Because UHRC’s activities help us children and youth to improve knowledge and confidence in performing and speaking before large audience and develop a self confidence to raise our voices for right.
