Tata Mumbai Marathon 2024
I run-a-mile-raise-a-100$ and run-a-marathon-fund-ateaching-classroom. I believe that education is the foundation for life’s journey, and it is time to re-imagine it.
This is why I am supporting the *Reimagine Education* to help build Chinmaya University’s new campus. This exciting educational institution is founded on the principles of fusing the best of Indian wisdom and contemporary knowledge; because of which students will be able to address life’s challenges, become better citizens, and leave a positive impact on our world.
In addition, my campaign will also support grassroot education by providing scholarships to underserved children and revamping school infrastructure of Chinmaya Schools around the country.
In the past 50 years over a million students have graduated from the Chinmaya Education Institutions which has value-based education at its core. It is now time to increase our impact!

About Me
I grew up in Bombay, an engineer by training from Thadomal Shahani in Bandra. My temples (Siddhivinayak, Haji Ali, St Michael’s church), school and college are all the famous places along the Mumbai marathon route. For the last 20some years i have lived in California with my wife and daughters and Fia, our family dog. Once a Bombaiya/Mumbaikar always one - the city of my childhood has a special and Mumbaikars in my heart always.
I was introduced to running by Team ASHA coaches and mentors. The message was simple run so *They* can read.
*They* are the innumerable kids who don’t have access to basic education. I struggled in my early days, a 2 km run was the limit; the marathon distance 21 times that was definitely looking an impossibility. As in other things in life, finding a higher cause helps awaken the super-powers, that is Swami Chinmayananda - BE CHINMAYA
