‘CanKids…KidsCan’ is an organization that works towards providing best standards of treatment care and support services for children with cancer and their families from the moment of diagnosis through treatment and after into survivorship on the one hand and palliative care, terminal and bereavement support on the other. The organization aims to provide holistic support to families of children with cancer under its signature model, the YANA – You are not Alone Program that is delivered through CanKids Hospital Support Units and CanKids Care Centres, at hospitals where children and being treated for cancer. I was introduced to CanKids by my mother who devotes her time and energy in contributing to the organization’s mission. I believe that the youth needs to be sensitized to the needs of society and grow as Individuals. Every child has a right to live a happy life, without pain and suffering. The world cancer survival rate in children is 90% but in India, it's an astonishing 30%-35%. By supporting CanKids, I will not only give back to the society by contributing to increase the rate of survival but also create awareness among people about the organization’s vision that no child should die or suffer due to lack of treatment or resources.
