K.C. Mahindra Education Trust- Project Nanhi Kali

Registered Year : 1996

Project Nanhi Kali was initiated in 1996 with the aim of providing quality education to underprivileged girl children in India. Since its inception, the project has provided 360 degree educational support to over 375,000 underprivileged girls in the country. The intervention includes academic support every school day at Nanhi Kali Academic Support Centres, where trained tutors engage the girls in concept based learning. Secondary school girls are provided with digital tablets, preloaded with engaging educational content. In addition, an annual school supplies kit including a school bag, shoes, socks, stationery, notebooks, a pullover/raincoat and feminine hygiene material is provided to every girl in the project, thereby allowing her to attend school with dignity. Through regular contact with the families of the girls and community stakeholders, the project creates conducive girl friendly ecosystems in challenging areas across India.
