Who We Are
The Learning Space Foundation (LSF), is a Thane-Palghar based NGO working in the field of Education, Community Development and Infrastructure for Education issues since 2006.
LSF believes that raising awareness and educating our citizens living in rural areas about social issues and changing their attitudes is the first step to creating a better society. We wish to see each child grow in a safe, happy and healthy environment to become a strong, self-aware, responsible individual. Our mission is to bridge gaps in the education ecosystem and act as a catalyst empowering the rural children and youth in India with the power to live their dreams.
Some of our key projects in the field of education are SarvaPrathamik, the Early Child Development Center and Step4Girls. These involve improving the quality of education in rural schools by acting as a conduit for meeting existing disparities in the system. On the infrastructure level, we supplement these projects with the platforms for their realisation in the form of sanitation utilities (SafeSpace-Sanitation) and the current redevelopment of a village school. At the same time, we are also actively intervening in delivering adequate sanitation facilities for rural women & the furthering and empowerment of rural youth.

Raising Funds For
The Learning Space Foundation (LSF) strives to empower the rural youth with the necessary skills and education to achieve their highest potential. One of the means it has adopted is by aiding in the development of rural educational infrastructure. A prominent school in the vicinity, the Saraswati Ganpat Patil Vidyalaya (based in Kelthan, a village on the outskirts of Mumbai) has been severely damaged by heavy rainfall & flooding during each monsoon over the past 10 years. In times of flooding, not only is student education disrupted but school utilities and educational resources are brutally ruined. LSF has assumed responsibility for the design and reconstruction of the school so that student education is not disrupted by extreme rainfall.
The redevelopment primarily comprises a restructured construction of 7 classrooms, amongst supplementary passages to aid movement. In phase I, 3 classrooms were built and completed by August 15, 2023. Phase II, which entails the erection of the remaining 4 classrooms is contingent upon funding in the vicinity of 50 lac rupees. LSF appeals to one and all to support our cause so we are successful in being able to provide a high quality and uninterrupted learning experience for students in Kelthan.
