Who We Are
CPAA is a 53-year-old Non-Government Organization with the goal to support socio-economically underprivileged cancer patients working towards the “Total Management of Cancer”. Cancer though life threatening is today curable if it is caught early and adequate treatment is provided. However, patients of modest means can only look on helplessly unless they receive a substantial contribution.
CPAA works closely with the medical fraternity, helping patients in the following ways: Medical and Financial Aid to cancer patients ensuring treatment to all patients; and provide food grains and diet supplements. Rehabilitation of cancer survivors through vocational training and employment at the CPAA Cancer Rehabilitation Centre. Cancer Awareness and Prevention with interactive sessions highlighting association with lifestyle like tobacco habits, alcohol, obesity with cancer. CPAA’s Zero cervical cancer programme includes prevention with HPV Vaccination and early detection through HPV testing. Early Detection of cancers through screening camps for all sectors of the society including schools, colleges, slums, corporate, etc. Cancer Research for identification of biomarkers for cancer diagnosis/ prognosis/ response to treatment. The primary mission of CPAA is to meet the needs of poor cancer patients who do not have access nor can afford cancer treatment.

Raising Funds For
Funds raised from Marathon for Cancer Patients Aid Association will be utilized to help the cancer patients receive treatment. Cancer though life threatening is today curable if caught early and adequate treatment is provided. CPAA is happy to provide the vital link between donors and patients and aid them in their valiant struggle.
CPAA’s outreach and funds have been severely impacted by the Covid-19 pandemic, meanwhile the number of patients seeking financial assistance have increased due to the economic impact of the pandemic on the income and livelihood.
Patients will be assisted with medical aid in the form of chemotherapeutic drugs or surgery and radiotherapy. Besides medical aid, patients may also be provided with prostheses or diet supplements, depending on their needs. All contributions however big or small will assist us in helping cancer patients to the best of our capabilities. It is the generous support like yours that will help the cancer patients receive the required treatment and give them a decent chance of survival; who may otherwise not seek treatment due to lack of funds.

Project Name | Medical Aid for cancer patients |
Amount Utilized (INR) | 15890000 |
Project Description | The funds raised by CPAA in TMM 2020 were utilized primarily for providing Medical Aid of Cancer Patients. Underprivileged cancer patients were provided with aid in the form of lifesaving chemotherapy drugs, investigations, radiation etc. The aid was provided to cancer patients from all age groups suffering from various cancers according to the treatment protocol prescribed by the treating oncologist. Many underprivileged cancer patients stop treatment, due to lack of funds. The funds raised from TMM have enabled the patients to continue with their treatment. Apart from medical aid, nutritional aid (diet supplements and food grains) were also given to the cancer patients.
The funds were also utilized for HPV vaccination and screening for cervical cancer. Cervical cancer is a high incidence cancer in India and can be prevented. Cervical cancer prevention through a HPV vaccination drive has been implemented by CPAA in school girls of a socio-economically poor background in parts of rural and urban Maharashtra. At CPAA we have also established a screening test for HPV to screen for cervical cancer in underprivileged women. |
