Project DescriptionUmeed ki Kiran is a community based clinic run by MSF in Jahangirpuri. The clinic provides quality timely medical and psychological care to the survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence, including children.
The clinic endeavours to provide quality treatment for survivors of sexual assault, who may develop medical and psychological complications. This includes treatment of physical injuries, prevention of HIV/AIDS, unwanted pregnancies; sexually transmitted infections and counselling for sever psychological problems.

In severe cases where patients may require advanced medical care, MSF provides referrals to tertiary hospitals with which we have a tie-up and we also follow the patient through recovery.
We also assist in referrals for other relevant services such as tertiary care, legal services, shelters based on the requirement.

All our services are delivered free of cost.

Impact Improved access to timely and quality medical and psychosocial care for survivors of SGBV in targeted slum areas in Delhi.
 Increased community awareness of the medical impact of SGBV for the survivor and the importance of timely medical and psychosocial care.
 Increased awareness and acceptance of the importance of integrating international standards in provision of SGBV care among the relevant Ministry of Health (MoH), Ministry of Women and Child Development (MoWCD) authorities and other non-governmental actors.
 Increased awareness of, and access to, integrated comprehensive SGBV care of international standards in the Government of India’s proposed “one stop crisis centers”.
