Project DescriptionThe amount was utilized for the following programs: 1. Samanvaya- the empowerment and rehabilitation of the disabled. Rs 155000/- was distributed in four residential programs. We could modify a class room and partially support a sensory room for the special children. 2. Gyandeepti- Rs 52500/- was provided towards the education of poor children. 3. Ummid- Rs 133801/- was used for the malnourished children in Karveer taluka of Kolhapur towards the distribution of supplementary food.

Project DescriptionSamanvaya - Empowerment & rehabilitation of the disabled
Sangli Mission Society has several centers for education, training & rehabilitation of the Persons with Disabilities in two ways such as IBR & CBR. There are 260 special children and 30 special male adults in the IBR program. The children in residential schools are provided with free accommodation, food and other facilities.
The activities are Special Education, Therapy, Activities of Daily Living Skills (ADLs), Sports & Games, Celebrations, Cultural Programs, Annual Day Gatherings, Parental Counselling, Staff Training, Vocational Training, Parentsí Meeting & Advocacy.
Dilasa- Program for the HIV/AIDS infected and affected people
Dilasa Bhavan is a home for HIV/AIDS infected children Miraj, Sangli. There are fifty two HIV infected orphan children in this centre. The activities are identification and selection of needy HIV infected orphan children, provision of accommodation, food and medicine, educational facilities, health checkup, vocational training, etc.
Ummid- Program for the malnourished children
Since last two years Sangli Mission Society has taken up the issue of malnourished children in Kolhapur. We take up several activities like home visit, medical camp, awareness on diet & breast feeding, hygiene and sanitation, counseling to parents, supplementary food distribution and nutrition demonstration.

It is a slow and steady process.
Dilasa enables HIV/AIDS infected CLHIVs to come out of fear and discrimination and dream high to stand their own feet beating all myths and misconception.
Ummid program tries to bring out malnourished children into healthy citizens
